Updated quarterly.  We receive the data for our California UCC Index directly from the California Secretary of State. The database contains records from federal tax liens on businesses and state tax liens from the Franchise Tax Board, Department of Employment and the State Board of Equalization.  Judgment liens and attachment liens are also included in this index. The database comprises over seven and one half million records dating from 1965 to the present and approximately thirty thousand new filings are added each month.

The filing status codes included in the database indicate Active, Expired, Terminated or Voided. The filing expiration date shown is the date after which a financing statement or lien is no longer in effect. These records do not indicate the type of property covered in the filing.

This database is an excellent source of Social Security Numbers, asset information, partnership affiliations and spouses’ names. Use this index to cross check suspected or previously discovered information.
