Private Investigator Michael Dores founded Merlin Information Services in Ojai , California , in 1991, where he pioneered searching public record on CD-ROM. Michael's understanding of the needs of investigators inspired him to develop search and retrieval tools with the capability of searching data in ways never before possible. Michael and his wife, Jordonna, moved the company to Kalispell , Montana , in 1994, due to the desire to be in an incredibly beautiful location.
In 1997, Merlin began offering its public record databases online at www.merlindata.com. As high speed internet access is now an industry standard, the Merlin CD-ROMs have been phased out. Online access is offered on a pay-per-search or a fixed-cost unlimited basis, depending on the needs of the customer.
Premiere customer service sets Merlin apart from the other information providers. Every call is answered by one of Merlin's trained customer service representatives. Also, Merlin's technical support team is one of the finest in the nation, providing expert assistance and focused instruction to all Merlin customers.
