Updated 02/01/2000 I understand that the database information available to me from Merlin Information Services has been compiled from public record and other proprietary sources for the specific purposes of (1) locating individuals and businesses, and/or (2) previewing1 general background information about individuals and businesses. I further understand that: (1) Merlin Information Services is not a consumer reporting agency as defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act1. (2) Merlin's database information has not been collected in whole or in part for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports, as defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act1. (3) Merlin does not expect that this database information will be used directly by me in the preparation of a consumer report1. I agree not to use any part of Merlin's database information directly1 for the purpose of serving as a factor in (1) establishing an individual's eligibility for personal credit or insurance or assessing risks associated with existing credit obligations, (2) evaluating an individual for initial employment, promotion, reassignment or retention (employment being defined to include certain independent contractors such as professionals [doctors, lawyers, nurses, etc.] and small business people [truck drivers, plumbers, etc.], (3) in connection with any other personal business transaction of an individual (including, but not limited to, lease of an apartment).
