About Account Administration


Each Merlin Internet account is assigned at least one account administrator.  This person has the authority to monitor the account, add money online, and view the account search logs.  The customer decides who will be the account administrator when more than one person will be using the account.

From the Merlin Login screen, there are two options to choose:  Standard Login for searching our databases and Account Administration Login which accesses account information and administration options.  All logins are secured with encryption.

Once logged in as account administrator, there are five administrative options:

  • Add Money to Your Account
  • Add a User
  • Delete a User
  • View Search Log
  • View Account Balance

Add Money to Your Account

With this option you can send us a message to add money to your account.  You must tell us how much money you want added to your Internet account and how you want to pay for this addition.  You may request that we bill your account and send you an invoice, or we can charge your credit card.  If you do not have a credit card on file with us, you must print, complete, sign, and fax us a Credit Card Authorization Form.  We will process these requests during our regular office hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time.  Requests submitted after hours are processed the next regular working day.
 

Add a User

Merlin offers the option of adding users to your Internet account.  Only the account administrator or Merlin Customer Service can add users to an account.  You must enter the user's name, user ID, password, e-mail address (if applicable), phone number, and address.  The password is case-sensitive.
 

Delete a User

Your account administrator can delete users from your account with this option.  Once you click on "Delete a User", a list of users will appear.  Just click on the user you wish to delete, and our system will delete that user.  Please be aware that once you click on the link, the user is deleted.  There is no "un-delete" function.

View Search Log

You may view a list of past search activities of your account.  This search log does not give you all of the results for each search, but will tell you the date and time of the search, the databases searched, the name of the user, any client reference information used, the query information, the amount of the charge, and the number of "hits" received.

You may search by Start Date, End Date, User Name, Client Reference, and/or Database Searched.
